The findings of a Pan-Hellenic survey on “Volunteerism and Forest Protection” were presented to an audience of 300 volunteers, invited from all over Greece, during a special conference, which took place on the initiative of, and funded exclusively by the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation and the Eurobank EFG Group in the context of their joint “It is Our Duty” Programme.
The results of a Pan-Hellenic survey on “Volunteerism and Forest Protection” covering 300 volunteer organizations will be presented this coming Saturday, May 9, during a one-day conference, taking place on the initiative of and exclusively funded by the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation and the Eurobank EFG Group.
The International Olympic Academy in collaboration with the University of Peloponnese announce the commencement of a postgraduate studies programme entitled “Olympic Studies, Olympic Education, Organization and Management of Olympic Events”, which will be held in Ancient Olympia and Sparta; the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation will fund the programme’s first three years of operation.
The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation and Eurobank EFG are awarded for their contribution to the volunteer movement by Interior Minister Prokopis Pavlopoulos and Civil Protection General Secretary Margaritis Mouzas.
The activities overview of the programme “It is our duty” for the year 2008 was published in the Greek Press.
The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation was awarded by the Volunteer Firefighters Association of Attica for its donation of 3.000 fireproof coveralls to the Fire Brigade. The award ceremony took place during the 2nd Pan-Hellenic Meeting of Volunteer Firefighters, which was hosted at the premises of the Fire Brigade Headquarters.

15 instructors and 31 students participated in IOA’s International Postgraduate Olympic Studies Programme The classes of the first semester, held in facilities at Ancient Olympia have concluded.

The classes of the first semester of the first year of the Postgraduate Programme entitled ‘Olympic Studies, Olympic Education, Organization and Management of Olympic Events’ have concluded. Organized by the International Olympic Academy (IOA) and the University of the Peloponnese (Department of Sports Organization and Management), and exclusively sponsored by the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, the programme takes place at the IOA facilities at Ancient Olympia.

The second semester class sessions will begin on April 17, 2010 and will conclude on August 20, 2010. The IOA is expected to issue a call for participant applications for the 2010–11 academic year no later than mid-February 2010.
